Ros and Anna make a research visit to an Apiary

Picture
In Summer 2021, I was delighted that Ros and i were able to visit my cousin Tom's Apiary.
Lola and I set off early to colect Ros then on we went.
Ros she was able to get up close and personal with a proper professional - just like Lulu...
We spent the day together, first at the Apiary, then sitting together discussing the text and the sketches...

Above, Ros puts her ear to the hive to hear the hum of busy worker bees.

All suited up before Tom took the roof off so we could look inside the brood box where all the baby bees are.

Tom shows Ros the Queen.
I LOVE this photo - Ros is so attentive and interested.
I think she may have based the art on it!!
It was a wonderful visit and appropriate - since it was my cousin Tom (a terrific beekeeper) who got me interested in bees in the first place.
