You've planted your seeds, and the garden is almost ready - all you need is a Mary-Mary!
There are lots of pictures to illustrate and inspire, so be patient if the page takes a while to load - it'll be worth it!

Mary Mary, quite contrary
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row!

First you need something as a base for the body.
You could use pegs - most come in natural light wood, so you'll have to paint them in whatever shin tone you want.

I got the little 'blanks' on the left
in a package for making Christmas decorations.

Then you need to cut a cardboard cone shape - if you've got patterned card all the better!

Wrap the cone around the body and secure with some tape.

To make hair, wrap some wool round a piece of card. I like to tie it in bunches. Or you can cheat and buy some ready-made.
Attach the hair to the head.

Cut material in a cone shape similar to the body - then attach to the cone body with glue or an elastic band.
Netting is great - you can just cut a rough shape and scrunch a few layers together, then attach them with an elastic band.

To make a sun bonnet, cut a cone shape, for a sun hat a circle will work. Glue your material onto the card. Voila!!!

To attach the simple sun hat,
I just glued a piece of thread
onto the hat and tied it under
Mary Mary's chin.

This Mary Mary has a dress simply made of layers of
blue and green net
and attached with
a small rubber band.
