First Day at Pre-School

It's Lulu's first day of school, and she's ready!

Lulu and her family prepare the night before for the first day of pre-school - she picks out her outfit and packs her bag. Then in the morning they take pictures and head to class.

Lulu puts her things into her cubby, chooses her activities, reads, plays, and has a snack. Before she knows it, it's time to sing the goodbye song and Mummy is back with a warm hug to collect her

A comforting, cheerful read that demystifies the school day for preschoolers.

Question on Twitter: "Does anyone know of a good picture book for a friend’s two year old who is reluctantly starting nursery?"

Charlotte Hacking –
Centre for Language in Primary Education
:

"This, by Anna McQuinn, is the perfect book for you.
It’s an absolute must for children starting pre-school or nursery. Such beautiful illustrations by Rosalind Beardshaw that share with children what to expect..."

Ever so gently acknowledges that sense of anxiety that comes from being in an unknown situation whilst celebrating the exciting opportunities that come with attending school. A simple. affirming narrative – Lulu's world is as diverse
as it is comforting and kind. – Mat Tobin, SeniorLecturer in Children's Literature at Oxford Brookes
