    Recommended Books

It's hard to keep up to date with new developments and it's hard to keep on top of updating your site and recommendations. The books listed below are my favourites. I've used them for years and they have a proven track record for me. I will add more books gradually.

For an up-to-date look at what I'm using and reading and what Lulu herself likes to read, visit our Goodreads pages. If you have specific questions, I can answer them there or set up a list for you or your school.

    Books for the Under Fives
    Peek-a-Moo - Maria Torres Cimarusti
    Bark George - Jules Feiffer
Hush Little Ones - John Butler
Dig Dig Digging - Margaret Mayo
Please, Baby, Please - Spike Lee
Lulu Loves the Library - Anna McQuinn
Five Little Ducks - Margaret Bateson-Hill
This Little Piggy - Margaret Bateson-Hill

Of course there are millions of fabulous picture books for the very young available but the reason I single these out is that I use them very often with my library group and they work perfectly well with children who don't speak English as a first language. The pictures tell the story beautifully - so you can point to them and all the children will be able to follow. They are also very good fun and botht eh little kids and their parents will soon be giggling.
