    Reality!

In reality, I don’t sit on a pink cushion and think deep thoughts because I’m so busy doing lots of different things:

Some days I work with young children and their parents in Acton Library. We do art and craft and jigsaws and read books and sing songs.

Some days I have ideas but I think someone else would be much better at writing the story.

Luckily I have lots of friends who are very good at writing all kinds of stories - Margaret Bateson-Hill writes great meaningful stories and Jana Novotny Hunter writes wonderful books about feelings and cute animals - so I work with them (and sometimes artists as well) to make interesting books.

I do actually have lots of ideas myself, and occasionally I do manage to get around to writing a story. Unfortunately, when I do write, mostly what comes out is not all deep and meaningful - it’s a little bit sarcastic or funny. Usually the characters are slightly annoyed about something.

You can find out more about any of these things and lots more besides by clicking on the links which luckily, are purple and rather gorgeous. (I have to admit that this isn't reality either! I do have a nice bureau by the window - and I do believe that someday I will sit there and write, but usually I'm so busy at my computer answering e.mails, preparing workshops for schools, browsing the internet...) the real reality!
